Hyundai To Launch 4 New SUVs In 1 Year – New Creta To Ioniq 5

The Korean automaker, Hyundai has recently launched the upgraded Venue sub-4 meter SUV with revised styling and interior. The new Hyundai Venue will also receive a new N-Line variant in the next few months. The company is now ready to introduce 4 new SUVs in the country in the next 1 year.

New Hyundai Tucson

Hyundai will introduce the long wheelbase version of the new Tucson SUV in the country on July 13, 2022. The LWB Tucson rides on 2,756mm wheelbase, which is claimed to offer more space in the second row and bigger boot compared to the European model. The new-gen Hyundai Tucson features the brand’s new ‘Sensuous Sportiness’ design language, which has recently been translated on the new Venue and the Creta facelift. The SUV gets the uniquely styled Parametric front grille with fully integrated DRLs. At the back, the SUV gets quad tail-lights connected by a full-width LED bar, new bumper with diamond texture and a faux skid plate.

The new Hyundai Tucson features a clutter-free cabin with minimal buttons on the dashboard. It features a dual-screen infotainment system that has a 10.3-inch display for climate & other functions. In terms of features, the SUV gets Hyundai’s BlueLink connected car tech, a digital instrument console, a panoramic sunroof, automatic AC, cruise control & ADAS features. The 2022 Hyundai Tucson is most likely to share the engine options with the existing model that includes a 150bhp, 2.0L petrol and a 182bhp, 2.0L turbo diesel. While the former gets a 6-speed torque convertor automatic gearbox, the latter is paired to an 8-speed automatic gearbox.

The new Creta facelift is expected to be launched before the end of this financial year. The company could launch the new model at the 2023 Auto Expo. It is expected to share most of the design and feature updates from the Indonesian model. The 2023 Hyundai Creta facelift comes with an all-new front fascia that’s inspired from the new Tucson. The Creta facelift cabin design and layout of the dashboard is similar to the outgoing model. The SUV will receive an updated version of Hyundai’s BlueLink connected car tech. This tech offers new features like stolen vehicle tracking, stolen vehicle immobilisation and a valet parking mode.

The new Creta facelift will also come with Advanced Driver Assist System (ADAS). It will be offered with 3 engine options – a 113bhp, 1.5L NA petrol, a 113bhp, 1.5L turbo-diesel and a 138bhp, 1.4L turbocharged petrol. Transmission options are likely to be similar to the existing model.

Hyundai Kona EV will receive a mid-life update in the country in 2022. The facelifted model is already on sale in global markets. The SUV has witnessed comprehensive cosmetic and feature updates. The new model comes with new headlamps, slightly tweaked bumpers, wheel arches with body colour finish, new alloy wheels and less body cladding. The new 2022 Hyundai Kona has been equipped with a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, a 10.25-inch infotainment system, updated BlueLink connected car tech, blindspot assistance, safe exit warning and more. The new Kona will come with the 39.2kWh battery and 136bhp electric motor. The automaker might also introduce the larger battery with the Kona facelift.

Hyundai has confirmed that the Ioniq 5 electric crossover will be launched in India in the second half of 2022. It has been designed on the E-GMP platform that supports multiple body styles. The new electric crossover will be brought via CBU route and cater a niche segment. The crossover is offered with two powertrain options – a single motor setup and a dual-motor AWD configuration. While the former makes power worth 169bhp and 350Nm of torque, the latter is good for 306bhp and 605Nm.

The single motor version is claimed to achieve 0-100kmph in 8.5 seconds, while the dual-motor version can accelerate 0 to 100kmph in 5.2 seconds. It is claimed to offer an electronically limited top speed of 185kmph. The electric crossover is available with two battery packs – 72.6kWh and 58kWh – delivering a maximum range of 481km and 385km (on the WLTP cycle) respectively.
