While the official name is yet to be revealed, but International media reports that the Hyundai Styx name has been finalised for this SUV. It is expected that the India-spec model will also carry the same nameplate. The company has already teased the new model via a small video, which reveals some of the design highlights and driving characteristics.

It was speculated that Hyundai could opt for the Leonis nameplate; however, the company faced difficulties in patent registrations. The Styx is a word from Greek Mythology, which refers to the rivers of the underworld or river of invulnerability. The Hyundai Styx will be available in 3 engine options – a 99bhp, 1.4-litre, a 89bhp 1.4-litre diesel and a 100bhp, 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol.
