The Korean automaker, Hyundai has finally launched the new Stargazer 3-row MPV in the Indonesian market. The new Hyundai Stargazer MPV will rival the likes of the Suzuki Ertiga & XL7, Kia Carens, Toyota Avanza & Veloz, Mitsubishi Xpander and Daihatsu Xenia. The new model will be produced locally in Indonesia. It will make public debut at the 2022 GIIAS (Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show) in August.
Hyundai Stargazer Variant-Wise Prices
The new Stargazer 3-row MPV is available in 4 variants – Active, Trend, Style and Prime – priced between IDR 243,300,000 (approx INR 12.91 lakh) and IDR 307,100,000 (approx INR 16.30 lakh).

– STARGAZER Active IVT: IDR 255,900,000 (approx INR 13.58 Lakh)
– STARGAZER Trend MT: IDR 263,300,000 (approx INR 13.98 Lakh)

The six-seater version is only available with the Trend, Style and Prime variants. Customers will have to pay extra IDR 1000000 (approx INR 5308) for the captain seats in the six-seater model. For two-tone color option, customers will have to shed IDR 1500000 (appox INR 7962) extra.
Design & Interior Features
Hyundai claims that the 3-row Stargazer MPV features the Sleek One Box typology with One Curve Design. The curve design helps the MPV to offer taller, more spacious and wider interior appearance. It comes with Hyundai’s new parametric grille, flanked by a split headlamp setup. The slim horizontal LED DRLs (Daytime Running Lights) are placed on the top, while the main LED headlamp cluster is positioned on the lower bumper. The SUV comes with a stylish looking 15-inch alloy wheels. At the back, the new Stargazer gets ‘H’ pattern LED tail-lights which we have already seen on the new Venue compact SUV.
The new Hyundai Stargazer features the traditional MPV like design. The MPV has short bonnet and longer A-pillars to the front that should help in create more space inside the cabin. It gets strong creases that runs across the length. It has squarish wheel arches, sloping roofline, chrome door handles, roof-integrated spoiler and strong curves at the rear.
Inside the cabin, the new Hyundai Stargazer 3-row MPV offers multiple storage spaces including small trays, cup holders, extra pockets, picnic tables and others. It comes with an elongated and slim dashboard with minimal buttons for AC and other controls. The new model will be offered with two seating layouts – 6 and 7-seats with former having captain seats in the second-row. The captain seats also come with an armrest. Moreover, the seats can be adjusted forward, backward, upright or reclined. It comes equipped with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity, a wireless smartphone charger, seat back table, a 4.2-inch TFT color LCD cluster and a multi-functional steering wheel.
The new Hyundai Stargazer 3-row MPV comes equipped with Hyundai Bluelink connected car tech, which allows customers to be connected to their car via a smartphone. It allows owners full access to essential features such as knowing the current condition of the vehicle, turning on/off the engine, adjusting the cabin temperature, locking/unlocking the door, turning the horn, turning on/off the lights, to find out where the vehicle is parked.
The Bluelink also offers advanced features such as Stolen Vehicle Notification & Stolen Vehicle Tracking, Stolen Vehicle Immobilization, ACN (Auto Collision Notification), SOS/Emergency Assistance, Roadside Assistance. (RSA) and other security features. The new Stargazer MPV will also come with advanced driver assistant system (ADAS) with features like forward collsion-avoidance assist (FCA), lane keeping assist (LKA), blind-spot collision-avoidance assist (BCA) and rear cross-traffic collision-avoidance assist (RCCA).
Hyundai Stargazer Dimensions
In terms of proportions, the new Stargazer 3-row MPV is 4,460mm in length, 1,780mm in width and 1,695mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,780mm. The MPV is claimed to offer a boot space of 200-litres, which can be further extended to 585-litres by folding the third-row seat. The MPV has a kerb weight of 1,209kgs.
Specifications
Powering the new Hyundai Stargazer MPV is a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine that produces 115PS at 6,300rpm and a peak torque of 144Nm at 4,500rpm. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual and an IVT (Intelligent Variable Transmission). The MPV offers a fuel tank of 40-litres capacity.
The new Stargazer is also expected to be launched in India. The India-spec model could get the 115PS, 1.5L NA petrol, a 115PS, 1.5L turbo diesel and a 140PS, 1.4L turbo petrol. Both manual and automatic gearbox options will be on offer.
