Hyundai Stargazer 6-Seater MPV – Features & New Details Emerge

Hyundai Indonesia has recently revealed the teaser images of the upcoming 3-row MPV. Called the Hyundai Stargazer, the new MPV is reportedly to be launched at the 2022 GIIAS (Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show) in August. Ahead of the official launch, key details about the new Stargazer MPV have hit the Internet.

In the Indonesian market, the new Hyundai Stargazer will rival the likes of the Toyota Avanza & Veloz, Mitsubishi Xpander, Suzuki Ertiga Mild Hybrid and Daihatsu Xenia. The report claims that the new Stargazer MPV will be locally produced in Indonesia. Earlier, it was speculated that the MPV will be developed at Hyundai’s Chennai based plant and will be exported to other markets.

Hyundai Stargazer Front Teased

The report claims that the new Hyundai Stargazer 3-row MPV will be offered in two seating layouts – 6-seat and 7-seat. The former will have captain seats in the second-row, while the 7-seater model will come with bench-type seat in the second-row. The MPV will come with bluelink connected car tech, which we have already seen on most of the new Hyundai cars.

The new Stargazer is reportedly to receive Stargazer MPV. This feature is currently offered in two of its rivals namely Mitsubishi Xpander and the Suzuki Ertiga mild hybrid tech. The new model will miss out on Hyundai Smartsense – Advanced Driver Assistant System (ADAS). The MPV is reportedly to offer four driving modes and wireless phone charging feature.

Hyundai Stargazer headlights Teased

The new Hyundai Stargazer is likely to be designed and developed on the modified K1 platform that underpins the Kia Carens. It features the traditional 3-row MPV-like body shape with modern design elements. It is likely to measure around 4.5 meters in length and features traditional cab-forward bodystyle.

Indonesian media reports that the new Hyundai Stargazer will be offered in 4 trim levels Active, Trend, Style and Prime. It is likely to be priced between Rp 155,000,000 (Approx INR 8.23 lakh) and Rp 202,000,000 (Approx INR 10.72 lakh). It will be powered by a 1.5-litre 4-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine that powers the Creta. The petrol engine is capable of producing 113.4bhp at 6,400rpm and a peak torque of 143.8Nm at 4,500rpm. Transmission options will include a 6-speed manual and an automatic transmission called IVT (Intelligent Variable Transmission).
