The launch of the smaller electric SUV will depend on the response for the Kona EV.

Hyundai had confirmed three electric vehicles and a fuel cell electric car (Hyundai Nexo) for the Indian market. While the first electric product from the South Korean carmaker will be the Kona SUV, a smaller electric SUV could be the second one. The launch of the second electric vehicle will depend on the response for the Kona electric SUV.

Talking to ET, YK Koo, HMIL Managing Director & CEO, said, “We will review both sedan and SUV (body styles) but I think chances for bringing an SUV are much higher”. He also confirmed that the company is also considering an entry-level micro SUV for India.
