Hyundai Santro Commands 3 Months Waiting Period, Bookings Paused

New Hyundai Santro Waiting Period

The new Hyundai Santro 2018 is reported to have a waiting period of three months.

Launched on 23rd October 2018, the new Hyundai Santro has been turning out a game changer for the carmaker in the small car segment. Within few days of its arrival in the market, the hatchback clocked over 35,000 bookings and over 1.29 lakh enquiries. In fact, the new Santro outsold its arch rival – Tata Tiago – in October’s sales with a good margin. It also helped the company register its highest ever domestic monthly sales of 52,001 units.

The company aims to retail around 9,000 to 10,000 units of the new Hyundai Santro 2018 on monthly basis. With the increasing demand of the hatchback, its waiting period has gone up to 3 months. In fact, the hatchback is reported to be sold out for the next three months. According to a latest report, the South Korean carmaker will temporarily stop taking bookings for the new Santro hatchback and resume it early next year. Though, there is no official word on the same. The carmaker made it clear that it will initially devote the production to the domestic market and start new Santro export in the first quarter of next year (i.e. after February 2019). Read – Hyundai Santro Cross Imagined 

The new Hyundai Santro 2018 carline comes in a total of 9 variants spread across four trims – D-Lite, Era, Magna and Sportz. The petrol manual models are priced between Rs 3.89 lakh – Rs 4.99 lakh, the AMT variants cost Rs 5.18 lakh (Magna) and Rs 5.46 lakh (Sportz). The Magna and Sportz CNG version are available at Rs 5.23 lakh and Rs 5.64 lakh respectively. All prices are ex-showroom, Delhi.
