Hyundai India has achieved yet another domestic sales milestone of 5 lakh units in calendar year 2016. With a growth of 5.2%, the South Korean carmaker has registered a total sales of 5,00,537 units in India previous year. Commenting on the sales milestone, Mr. YK Koo, MD & CEO, Hyundai Motor India said, “2016 has been an Year of Excellence for Hyundai in India achieving various milestones – Celebrating 20 years in India, the roll out of 7 Millionth car in November’16, crossing the 5 lakh domestic sales in CY2016 and the fastest 50,000 unit sales in the month of October.

Hyundai brands have also scored top rankings in both quality and design parameters in IQS and APEAL studies. In 2016, Hyundai India introduced the new Elantra sedan and Tucson in the country. Talking about further plans, the South Korean carmaker has a range of facelifts and new models in the pipeline. The first one to arrive in the market will be the new-generation Verna, which is due for mid 2017. The sedan’s new model will be more premium and feature-rich than before. Besides this, there might be a mild-hybrid version of the car to take on the Ciaz SHVS.
Other upcoming Hyundai cars include – Elite i20 facelift, Grand i10 facelift, Eon facelift, Tucson 4X4, new-gen Santro, Carlino compact SUV. All these cars will be launched within the next years in India.
