Hyundai Palisade India Price

Korean automaker, Hyundai is aggressive with its product strategy for the Indian market. The company has already launched the new Creta and the 2020 Verna facelift, and is set to introduce the new generation i20 hatchback in the mid-2020. Hyundai is also readying the 7-seater version of the Creta SUV and the next-gen Tucson SUV, which are expected to be launched in 2021 and 2022 respectively.

Hyundai is also considering the Palisade SUV for the Indian market. It could serve as a brand’s flagship model, and could rival the likes of the Skoda Kodiaq, Toyota Fortuner, Ford Endeavour and the upcoming MG Gloster. It is expected that the company has already started doing feasibility study to bring the Palisade in India.

In the American market, the Hyundai Palisade is available at a price tag of $32,000 to $43,000 (approx 25 lakh to Rs 32.5 lakh). To achieve this pricing, Hyundai will have to make this SUV in India. With local assembling, the company could achieve a price of around Rs 30 lakh for this SUV.

Hyundai is also readying the right-hand-drive version of the Palisade, which is scheduled to be launched in the Australian market in 2020. This suggests that the SUV could also arrive in our market.  In terms of position, the Palisade is 4,980mm in length, 1,975mm in width and 1,750mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,900mm. This is slightly bigger than the Ford Endeavour and Toyota Fortuner.

The Hyundai Palisade is available in 2 engine options – a 3.8-litre V6 direct injection petrol and a 2.2-litre turbocharged diesel. While the former is good for 291bhp and 355Nm of torque, the oil burner produces 200bhp and 441Nm of torque. Delivering power to the wheels is an 8-speed automatic gearbox with a multi-plate torque converter. The SUV comes with both two-wheel-drive (2WD) and HTRAC four-wheel-drive (4WD) options.
