All new Hyundai Nexo Fuel Cell car will finally make its way to India, confirmed the company. Chung Euisun, Vice Chairman, Hyundai said, “We confirm that India will get the Nexo FCV.” However, he didn’t reveal the official launch timeline of the vehicle. The Nexo Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle (ECEV) first broke cover at the Consumer Electronics Show in January, followed by its India debut at the India-Korea Business Summit in February, 2018.
The Nexo FCEV is among 18 zero emission cars that will be launched in global markets by 2025. The SUV is already on sale in the Korean market. For power, the Hyundai Nexo makes use of a 95kW fuel cell pushing out a maximum power output of 161bhp and a peak torque of 395Nm. Hyundai claims that the design of the Nexo has been “inspired by nature, considering of a pure and calm composition”. The carmaker has also employed aerodynamic techniques to reduce its drag coefficient. Some of its styling elements include sleek headlamps, a cascading grille and a floating roof. Inside, the car gets two large LCD displays showing speed, range, efficiency on the left one and the connectivity and infotainment options on the right one. On the safety front, the Hyundai Nexo Fuel Cell car gets Blind-spot view monitor (BVM), Highway Driving Assist (HDA), Lane Following Assist (LFA) and Remote Smart Parking Assist.
