Hyundai ix25 SUV to debut at 2014 Beijing Motor Show

Hyundai ix25 compact SUV

South Korean automaker Hyundai will unveil the all-new ix25 compact SUV at the upcoming 2014 Beijing Motor Show. Based on the new generation i20 hatchback, the SUV will compete against the likes of Renault Duster, Nissan Terrano and others. The vehicle has already been spotted several times during its test rounds.

If media reports to believe, this new Hyundai ix25 will also make its way to the Indian car market. However, we believe that the company might introduce Grand i10 based SUV instead of ix25 owing to its high price. The vehicle will first go on sale in international markets by the end of 2014. Well, if company plans to introduce this vehicle in India, it will only come by second quarter of 2015. The India bound SUV will be locally assembled with the use of large number of local content to keep prices competitive.

The new Hyundai ix25 SUV is based on the Storm Edge design philosophy which is basically an enhanced version of Hyundai’s immensely popular Fluidic philosophy. The vehicle will share most of its design cues from its larger sibling, Santa Fe and the Intrado concept. It sports black grille bars and new 5-spoke alloy wheels. The ix25 measure about 4.25 metres in length, and it has a large wheelbase of 2,570mm.

Hyundai ix25 compact SUV will be made available in both petrol and diesel guise. The diesel version of the SUV gets 1.4-litre and 1.6-litre turbo diesel engines, while the petrol models are likely to sport 1.2-litre and a 1.4-litre petrol engines. The compact SUV is expected to get projector headlamps, LED DRLs, rear AC vents, all disc brakes and an all wheel drive system and others.
