Hyundai has launched the much-awaited ix25 compact SUV in the Chinese market. The vehicle is offered in petrol variant only, and the pricing starts at 119,800 yuan (INR 11.97 lakh) and goes up to 179,800 yuan (INR 17.95 lakhs) for top-end model. Set to make its Indian debut next year, the Hyundai ix25 compact SUV will compete against the likes of Honda XR-V Nissan Juke, Renault Captur/Duster, Ford EcoSport, etc.
Unveiled at the 2014 Beijing Motor Show as pre-production concept, the Hyundai ix25 is offered with 1.6-litre and 2.0-litre petrol motors. While the smaller engine is capable of producing 122.8 bhp and 150.7 Nm of torque, the higher spec engine churns out 158bhp and 192Nm of top torque and is available in both 2WD and 4WD versions. Both engines mated to either 6-speed manual or an automatic transmission.
