South Korean automaker Hyundai that unveiled the ix25 compact SUV at the 2014 Beijing Motor Show is now aiming to launch the vehicle in the Chinese market in October this year. The vehicle displayed at the event looks closer to the production model, which is also likely to go on sale in several international markets.
The new generation Hyundai ix25 compact SUV is based on the company’s evolved Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design philosophy. This crossover measures 4,270mm in length, 1,780mm in width and 1,630mm in height, and it has a large wheelbase of 2,590mm.
If media reports to believe, the ix25 compact SUV will get the 1.6-litre and 2.0-litre naturally aspirated engines. The oil burner is capable of developing 173bhp of top power and 208Nm of torque. Both the engines are likely to be paired with a six-speed manual transmission gearbox.
Hyundai ix25 production will first start in China; however, the vehicle will also be manufactured in other countries. Indian media reporting that Hyundai could bring this compact SUV in our country; however, we strongly believe that the company will not launch this product in India. It is expected that Hyundai will launch a compact SUV based on the Grand i10 platform.
