Hyundai will introduce the N Line cars in India before the launching the N performance brand in India.
We informed you earlier that Hyundai is planning to add the new 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine to the Grand i10 and Elite i20 hatchbacks. This 1.0-litre turbocharged engine recently debuted in the Hyundai Venue compact SUV. A new media report suggests that Hyundai is also planning to introduce the N Division in India.
The confirmation about the N performance division comes from the Albert Biermann, President and Head of R&D, Hyundai Motor Group. The report further claims that the first Hyundai N car would be launched in our market in the next 3 years.
In the foreign markets, Hyundai is selling the i30 N in the hatchback and fastback body styles. The company is also working on the performance version of the i20 hatchback. It is expected that the performance version of the car will be introduced in the next-gen i20 hatchback. The hot hatchback has already been spotted in Europe and is likely to be powered by a 1.6-litre T-GDI turbocharged petrol engine. Also See – Hyundai Venue price, specs and all details
The Korean automaker also offers N Line range, which has slightly less sporty cars. Hyundai had unveiled the i30 N Line and the Tucson N Line at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show. We believe that Hyundai will introduce the N Line cars in India before the launching the N performance brand in India. The Hyundai Elite i20 N Line could be the first model in India, which could use the 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine that powers the Venue.
Hyundai is already offering this engine in the international-spec i20 hatchback. This engine offers two states of tunes – 100bhp/172Nm and 118bhp/172Nm. It is expected that the India-spec model could receive the 100bhp version of the 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine.
