We have reported earlier that Hyundai is planning to introduce its Genesis luxury car brand and N performance division in the Indian market. The Hyundai Genesis GV70 SUV and Hyundai i20 N Line could be the first two models from the each division. Recently, the sportier i20 N Line hot hatchback was spotted testing in Chennai.
– The i20 N Line is the smallest high performance hatchback from the South Korean carmaker. The model said to be inspired by Hyundai’s successful i20 World Rally Championship (WRC) car.
– Globally, the hot hatchback has been offered with a new 1.6L, 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that offers a top power of 204bhp. Its torque figure stands at 275Nm.
– The motor has been boosted with an uprated turbocharger and intercooler, Hyundai’s new CVVD (Continuously Variable Valve Duration) technology and a 350 bar fuel injection system. – The Hyudnai i20 N Line comes with a 6-speed manual gearbox only. It has rev-matching technology that ensures smooth downshifts.
– The hot-hatch has also been equipped with ‘N Corner Carving Differential’, which is an optional mechanical limited-slip differential. The system enables the front wheel to use the most of the power offered via engine.
– The N Line model sits on retuned and improved chassis of the regular i20. In fact, the carmaker has made several geometry changes and revised its components including the calibrated steering and larger front brakes. Read – Hyundai Creta 7-Seater Coming Sooner Than Expected
– Similar to the i30 N, the new Hyundai i20 N Line comes with the brand’s ‘N Grin Control System’ offering five modes to adjust engine, transmission, exhaust sounds, steering and stability control.
– The hot-hatch has some motorsport inspired features such as Pirelli P Zero tyres, a brake pad wear indicator and “left-foot braking calibration”.
