Hyundai India that launched the Verna facelift is now gearing up for the launch of Elite i20 based crossover. The new pseudo crossover is named as Hyundai i20 Active, and the first fully undisguised images of the car have been leaked on the web ahead of its launch in April. Abhijeet More, a Twitter account holder has managed to click the front and rear of the upcoming crossover.
Hyundai has made slight changes to exteriors to add some sporty touch to it. The front features a new skid plate, projector headlamp with daytime running lights and large fog lamps. At the back, the crossover gets a restyled rear bumper with circular reflector elements and silver skid plate. Also visible are aggressive roof spoiler and roof rails. It gets extra plastic body cladding and new alloy wheels to add sportiness.
The i20 Active also gets a new brown exterior shade. The company has also increased the ground clearance to 170mm, which is slightly larger than the hatchback. Moreover, the suspensions will be tweaked to tackle rugged road conditions in a better way. The spotted vehicle also gets a disguised dashboard, which shows that the car will get an upgraded infotainment system.
Hyundai i20 Active will be offered in both petrol and diesel fuel options. While the petrol version gets the same 1.2-litre unit that develops 83PS of power and 115Nm of torque, the oil burner is the 1.4-litre CRDi unit that is good for 90PS and 220Nm of torque.
