South Korean automaker, Hyundai has showcased the Genesis saloon at the ongoing Autocar Performance Show 2014. The company is known for its budget friendly products in the country, and this flagship premium saloon is previewed to see the public’s response. It was speculated that the Korean automaker is considering the Genesis saloon for the Indian market, and the showcasing is the proof that the company is serious about bring this flagship car in India.
The Hyundai Genesis saloon is 4,990mm long, 1,890mm wide and 1,480mm high, and it comes with a large wheelbase of 3,010mm. It is one of the most spacious saloons in its league. The Genesis is currently offered in petrol version only. The 3.0-litre V6 engine is capable of producing 254bhp and 305Nm of torque, while the 3.3-litre engine is good for 278bhp and 347Nm of torque. Its 3.8-litre V6 engine is capable of developing 311bhp of power and 397Nm of torque.
The most powerful variant is propelled by a 5.0-litre V8 engine that churns out a maximum power output of 419bhp and a peak torque of 520Nm. This engine accelerates the saloon to 100kmph from zero in mere 5.4 seconds. While the standard model gets rear wheel drive structure, the range-topic model gets All-wheel drive capability. It is equipped with features like Blue Link Telematics, Blind Spot Detection, Lane Keeping Assist, Head-up Display, etc.
