Hyundai Elite i20 Outsells Maruti Suzuki Baleno In December 2018
The list includes six models from Maruti Suzuki and four from Hyundai India.
Indian automobile industry has witnessed a slow down in the last quarter of 2018, thanks to the high fuel prices, several economic factors and one-time insurance payment. Well, here’s the list of top 10 bestselling cars of December 2018 including six models from Maruti Suzuki and four from Hyundai India. The top spot was grabbed by Maruti Suzuki Alto with total sales of 25,121 units as opposed to 20,346 units of November 2018, accounting 23% growth. Hyundai’s Elite i20 that received mid-life update in February 2018, outsold its arch rival Maruti Suzuki Baleno with a decent margin. While the former recorded total sales of 11,940 units, the latter one stood at number six with total sales of 11,135 units. The Maruti Suzuki Swift and Hyundai Grand i10 managed to grab the fourth and fifth positions with sales of 11,790 units and 11,450 units respectively. Read – Top 10 New Upcoming Cars In 2019
The Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza settled for number seven with total sales of 9,667 units, followed by the Maruti Suzuki Celerio that recorded sales of 9000 units. Interestingly, Maruti Suzuki’s Eeco outnumbered the Hyundai Creta with 901 units. While the former stood at number nine with sales of 85,32 units, the latter one recoded 7,631 units.
