The electric vehicle will most likely be a sedan, though Hyundai is still tight lipped about it.
The company is also contemplating brining all-electric Kona SUV to India.
India’s vision to adopt electric mobility has made automakers work rigorously to achieve the 2030 target and while India’s popular car giants have been announcing their plans lately, Hyundai seems to have something more concrete up its sleeves.
Media reports suggest that Hyundai will display an electric vehicle concept at the upcoming Auto Expo 2018. This EV will most likely be a sedan, though Hyundai is still tight lipped about it and currently no technical details have been revealed. The company is also contemplating bringing all-electric Kona SUV to India, which going by the current craze for SUVs in the country makes all sense.
Another model that is expected to be seen at the Hyundai’s Pavilion at the Auto Expo 2018 is the Eon and i10 replacement, codenamed, ‘Hyundai Family Concept’. The test mules surfaced online lately, divulging details about its styling. Sporting a tall boy stance, the hatchback is expected to get a spacious cabin and will take on the likes of Maruti Celerio as well as Tata Tiago in the entry level B segment.
Reports in media say the new hatchback is the all-new Santro that was taken off-production in 2015. A known badge for the Indian market, Hyundai is ostensibly planning to re-launch Santro with radical changes to its exterior, interior and equipment level. While it could be previewed at the upcoming biennial event, an official launch is expected at a later stage in 2018 (H2 2018).
