Hyundai Creta SX Executive Trim & Mulberry Red Colour Axed

The Hyundai Creta has been one of the best-selling midsize SUV in its category since its introduction in the market. The SUV has recently been updated to meet the upcoming BS6 Phase 2 emission norms. Now, Hyundai has rejigged its variant lineup by removing an entry-level trim and an exterior colour.

Hyundai has discontinued the signature Mulberry Red colour option from the Creta line-up. The SUV is now available in 6 paint options – Denim Blue, Titan Grey, Typhoon Silver, Phantom Black, Polar White, and Polar white with black roof.

Hyundai has also removed the SX Executive trim from the Creta line-up. This trim level was introduced in 2021. It was positioned between the S and SX variants. The SX Executive was available with two engine options – a 115bhp, 1.5-litre 4-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol and a 115bhp, 1.5-litre 4-cylinder turbo diesel. A six-speed manual gearbox driving the power to front wheels was offered as standard.

The 2023 Hyundai Creta is available with two powertrains – a 1.5L NA petrol and a 1.5L diesel. Both powertrains are upgraded to meet the RDE emission norms and are E20 fuel compliant. Hyundai has already discontinued the 1.4L turbo petrol engine. This engine will be replaced by a new 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine that has recently been introduced in the Alcazar SUV. It will also power the soon-to-be-launched new-gen Verna sedan.

Hyundai is also working on the new Creta, which will receive India-specific changes. The Creta facelift is reportedly to be launched in early 2024. The new model will receive significant design changes and an upgraded cabin. Adding to it, the SUV will also receive advanced driver assistance system (ADAS).
