Hyundai Creta was the biggest launch from the South Korean carmaker in India previous year. Despite being pricier than most of its rivals, the Creta crossed 1 lakh booking mark within 8 month of its launch. This shows the popularity the compact SUV is enjoying in the Indian market. Besides this, the Creta received strong response from international markets as well. Hyundai India is now expected to increase the vehicle’s price in September, 2016.
While the company hasn’t yet revealed the exact figures of the price hike, word has it that it will be up to Rs 15,000. With an aim to accommodate operational and manufacturing costs fluctuations, Hyundai usually revises prices of its lineup in every third quarter of the year. So, the price hike news hasn’t come as a surprise. The carmaker has already informed its dealers about the forthcoming price hike, and asked them to place orders at the earliest.
Launched in July 2015, the Hyundai Creta has now completed its first year in the Indian market. To celebrate the occasion, the company has announced the 1st Anniversary Edition of the compact SUV that will be launched in August, 2016. Currently, the Hyundai Creta petrol comes within the price range of Rs. 9.17 lakh to Rs. 12.87 lakh, while the diesel variants cost between Rs. 10 lakh to Rs. 14.51 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).
