2017 Hyundai Creta Prices Increased By Up To Rs 55,375

Hyundai Creta 2017 compact SUV is available with three powertrain options – 1.6-litre Gamma VTVT petrol, 1.4-litre U2 CRDi diesel and 1.6-litre CRDi diesel.

Hyundai Motor India has again revised the prices of its popular compact SUV – Hyundai Creta. This is the second time; the Korean maker has increased the prices of Hyundai Creta 2017 model post GST. In July, the company had decreased the prices of the SUV by up to 5.9 per cent. Due to lowered GST rates, the Creta prices were reduced significantly ranging between Rs 36,305 to Rs 63,670. Due to revised GST rates, Hyundai has again raised the prices of the Creta SUV. This SUV is now pricier by up to Rs 55,375, though it is still cheaper than the pre-GST era model. That said, the Creta range was earlier available between Rs 9.28 lakh to Rs 14.63 lakh, however after the price reduction, Hyundai Creta price starts from 9.29 lakh and goes up to Rs 14.55 lakh (all prices ex-showroom, Delhi). The lately launched the 2017 Creta in India, packed with new features, it gets a new Executive E+ variant with 1.4-litre diesel engine and SX+ dual tone trim in 1.6-litre petrol & 1.6-litre diesel options. Powered by the 1.4-litre oil burner, the new E+ trim is aimed at the value-seeking customers. While the dual-tone variant comes with piano back finish roof top and a sporty spoiler. It additionally comes with two colour choices including-White & Black and Red & Black.

As customers get a more feature packed version of the SUV, Hyundai is readying a facelift version that is set to make its debut at the 2018 Auto Expo next year. The new Hyundai Creta 2018 is expected to be launched in India by the second half of 2018. While a new-generation model will be rolled-out sometime in 2021. Coming back to the 2018 Creta, it will receive mild styling updates with most of the changes made to the front profile. The side profile on the other hand is likely to remain unchanged save for new alloy wheels etc. At the back, expect it to come minor tweaks such as a new taillamp and bumper.

As for the features, expect Creta to come with new climate control system with new colour backlight, connectivity bits such as Apple CarPlay & Android Auto for the infotainment system etc. Mechanically, the model is expected to carry forward the same petrol and diesel engines from the existing model.

Hyundai recently announced price rise across its range between 2 to 5 per cent. Due to revised GST rates, Hyundai’s stellar SUV, Creta has received a substantial hike in its prices; however, it is still lower than the pre-GST era. Hyundai Creta carline is available with three engines options in petrol and diesel engines with a choice between manual and automatic gearbox. The petrol variants derive power from a 123bhp, 1.6-litre Dual VTVT engine mated to a six-speed manual unit with an optional automatic transmission. The Creta compact SUV sits above 4 metres in length, measuring 4,270mm in length, 1,780mm in width and 1,622mm in height. It has a wheelbase of 2,590mm. Similar to the new breed of Hyundai cars, the global SUV is designed on the company’s Fluidic Design Sculpture 2.0. The 2017 Creta comes without any changes to its exterior styling, except for the new dual-tone trim. The new SX+ variant gets Piano Black Finish Roof Top & Sporty Black Spoiler. This dual-tone exterior is available in two body color combinations: White & Black and Red & Black. The company has also introduced a new Executive Variant E+, which comes equipped with electrically adjustable ORVM with LED turn indicators.

The Creta borrows some of its design elements from the Santa Fe SUV. It features an aggressive front fascia with features like sporty bumper, silver skid plates, newly styled chrome grille, fog lamps, uniquely designed headlamps with silver inserts and integrated LED daytime running lamps. The Creta has forward leaning stance with muscular wheel arches for squad stance. The top-end model of the compact SUV comes fitted with 17-inch alloy wheels and 215/ 60 R17 tyres, while other variants get 16-inch alloys with 205/ 65 R16 tyres. The vehicle also features aggressive character lines running across the length, and body coloured ORVMs with integrated blinkers. At the rear end, the SUV gets newly styled tail-lamps, new roof mounted spoiler and silver skid plate.

The cabin styling of the creta is inspired from the Verna and the Elite i20. It comes equipped with several comfort and connectivity features such as a touchscreen infotainment system, automatic climate control, power steering, electrically adjustable wing mirrors, rear AC vents, leather upholstery, etc. It offers large boot space of 400-litres. This SUV also features built-in Arkamys Sound Mood, which helps to choose between various sound enhancement options. The company has also introduced a new Executive Variant E+, which gets a 2-DIN audio system with AUX, USB and MP3, rear air-conditioning vents, a luggage lamp, etc.

The 2017 Creta achieved four-star rating in the Latin NCAP (new car assessment programme) crash test. The Creta’s structural integrity was deemed as stable, and it had good loading capabilities. The compact SUV scored a 4-star rating between good to adequate protection for adult occupants in frontal crash test, and 3-stars rating for child occupant protection.

Latin NACP’s testing protocol mandates that the child seats for 3-year olds and 18-month olds should prevent excessive forward movement and provide good protection respectively. Though, the Creta failed to pass some of the safety restraints installation tests. The vehicle also losses points on lacking the passenger airbag de-activation switch and 3-point seat belts for all occupants. The India-spec Hyundai Creta gets dual airbags and anti-lock braking system (ABS) as standard safety features, while dual front, side and curtain airbags, hill start assist and stability control are exclusively offered on the top-end model.
