Hyundai Casper Mini SUV Interior Spied: More Details Emerge

We reported earlier that the long-awaited Hyundai AX1 micro SUV is expected to make global debut in September 2021. The new model is most likely to be called the Hyundai Casper in Korea; however, India-spec model could carry a different nameplate. The small SUV has been caught testing again in production guise.

For the first time, the interior of the Hyundai Casper have been revealed in spy images. The interior images reveal that the small SUV will be introduced as a 4-seater model. The spotted model has premium cabin, which is loaded with features. The seats are finished in white leather, while armrest is added for driver and co-occupant. The central console will have multiple spaces such as bottle holder, card holders, etc.

The Hyundai Casper is likely to share most of the features with the Grand i10 Nios. It is expected to get an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, connected car tech, keyless entry, engine start/stop button, reverse camera, etc.

For safety, dual front airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, speed alerts and others will come as standard. The spotted model rides on 17-inch alloys shod with 205/45 section tyres.

The Hyundai Casper micro SUV is rumoured to measure around 3.7 meters in length, which will make it a direct rival to the upcoming Tata HBX based mini UV. The small model features quirky design, featuring split headlamp setyp with round LED headlamps with integrated circular LED DRLs, a large hexagonal grille, a thin strip of LED DRLs that also work as turn indicators, split tail-lamps, etc.

The Hyundai Casper will look like a mini Venue, featuring flat roof and Venue-like tailgate along with a roof-mounted spoiler. It has boxy design coupled with large glasshouse, which gives airy feel inside the cabin. The rear door handles are integrated into the C-pillar.

The Korean-spec model is reportedly to get a 1.0-litre naturally-aspirated or a 1.0-litre turbocharged petrol engine. In India, the small SUV is most likely to get the 1.2-litre petrol engine that produces 82bhp and 113Nm of torque. The company could also use the 1.1-litre engine, which offers 68bhp and 99Nm of torque. A 5-speed manual gearbox will come as standard.
