New Hyundai Compact SUV

Hyundai Carlino based vehicle will rival Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and Ford EcoSport.

The South Korean carmaker is doing final launch preparations for the new Hyundai AH2 (new Santro) hatchback. After this, the company plans to foray into the subcompact SUV space with the all-new Hyundai Carlino concept based vehicle. The concept made its global debut at the Delhi Auto Expo in 2016. According to a latest report, the production-ready Hyundai Carlino will hit Indian roads by April, 2019.

In the subcompact SUV segment, the Hyundai Carlino based vehicle will put up against the Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza and Ford EcoSport. Sharing its platform with the Grand i10, the new subcompact SUV could be slightly pricier than its rivals. Speculations suggest that it could be priced between Rs 8 lakh to Rs 12 lakh (ex-showroom).

It’s the same powertrain that does duty to the Hyundai i20 hatchback. The SUV might also get a 1.4-litre U2 CRDi diesel engine sourced from the Creta. This oil burner delivers 89bhp of power and 220Nm of torque. Transmission on offer might include a 6-speed manual and a 4-speed automatic. Check Out – Upcoming Hyundai Cars In India
