Hyundai Aura Will Be India’s First Sedan To Get BS6 Turbo Petrol Engine
Hyundai Motor India has confirmed that its all-new Hyundai Aura sedan will be made available with three engine options. The subcompact sedan carline will source the 1.2L petrol and diesel motors from the i20 and a 1.0L turbocharged petrol motor from the Venue. All powertrains will meet the BS6 emission norms.
That said, the Hyundai Aura will be the first subcompact sedan to offer BS6-ready turbocharged petrol engine. Transmission choices will include a manual and an AMT (automated manual transmission).
The official testing of the new Hyundai Aura has already begun in the country. Some of its design bits are likely to be carried over from the newly-launched Hyundai Grand i10 Nios. The spy pictures suggest that the Aura will get a new cascading grille, boomerang LED DRLs, revised LED projector headlamps and LED taillamps, new ORVMs and dual-tone roof.
As of now, interior details of the Hyundai Aura are scanty. It might come with an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system supporting Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The subcompact sedan is likely to offer all mandatory safety features.
The Hyundai Aura subcompact sedan could debut at the 2020 Auto Expo in February. Its prices are likely to start from Rs 6 lakh and go up to Rs 9 lakh (ex-showroom). The Aura will be put up against the Maruti Suzuki Dzire and Honda Amaze.
