Hyundai Aura, the all-new subcompact sedan from the South Korean carmaker, has finally made its debut at a media event in Chennai. Its launch is likely to happen at the Delhi Auto Expo in February, 2020.

In the company’s product lineup, the all-new Aura will step in place of the Xcent and share several components with the new Hyundai Grand i10 Nios. It’s claimed to be the most power packed and feature rich sedan in its segment.

The company has already confirmed that the Hyundai Aura will come with BS6-compliant petrol and diesel engine options. There will be a 81bhp, 1.2L Kappa dual VTVT petrol and a 1.0L turbocharged GDi petrol motor.

Interestingly, the Hyundai Aura will be the first car in its segment to feature a turbocharged petrol engine.

While the 1.2L gasoline unit will come with a 5-speed and an AMT gearbox, the 1.4L petrol engine will be offered with a 6-speed manual and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.

The diesel version of the subcompact sedan will use the Grandi10 Nios’s 1.2L U2 CRDi engine that’s good enough for 74bhp and 190Nm. It can be had either with a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT gearbox. Read – Hyundai To Launch 6 All-New Cars Next Year

All powertrains are claimed to deliver “low vibrations, superior performance and high fuel efficiency”. In a bid to meet the highest standards of emission regulations, the carmaker has equipped the Hyundai Aura with an ‘Advanced After Treatment System’, Nox TrapCatalyst and MP filters.

Visually, the Hyundai Aura appears sporty with projector headlamps and fog lamps, twin boomerang DRLs, a large front grille, a muscular bonnet, coupe-like roofline, R15 diamond cut alloy wheels, floating C-pillar and wide Z-shaped LED taillamps.

Interior details of the Hyundai Aura have also been revealed. It comes with several segment-first features such as an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with smartphone connectivity, Arkamys premium sound system, wireless charging, 5.3 digital speedomeater and multi information display.

The compact sedan from Hyundai also gets a unique driving rear view monitor for rear view display on screen. The list includes iBlue audio remote smart phone app, air curtain, eco coating, outside chrome door handle and premium cabin with bronze colour inserts.

Hyundai is offering ‘Wonder Warranty’ that’s claimed to be best-in-segment with option of 3 years/100,000 kms or 4 years/50,000 kms or 5 years/40,000 kms along with road side assistance.
