Hyundai Alcazar 7 Seater SUV Spotted With Chrome-Studded Grille

We informed you earlier that Hyundai is readying a 7-seater SUV based on the Creta for the Indian market. Rumoured to be called the Hyundai Alcazar, the 7-seater Creta has been spotted testing again. This time, the SUV was caught wearing less covers; revealing more design details. The new Alcazar 7-seater SUV is likely to be launched in the country in the mid-2021, before festive season Diwali.

The upcoming Hyundai Alcazar will ride on longer wheelbase, and will be longer than the 5-seater model. If reports are to be believed, the new model could feature 20mm longer wheelbase and 30mm longer body. The latest spy images reveals the aggressive front design, which has chrome studded grille. The SUV features the split headlamp design with a C-shaped LED DRLs and LED headlamps.

The side profile has received maximum changes, featuring longer rear overhangs to create third row of seats. The glass area behind the C-pillar has also been increased for more light inside the cabin. The rear profile has also received significant changes in the form of flatter body, new tail-lamps, revised bumper and a steeper new tailgate. The SUV also has flatter roof compared to the sloping one offered in the 5-seater Creta.

The new Hyundai Alcazar is expected to be offered in 6-and 7-seat options. While the six-seater model will have captain seats for the second row, the 7-seater model will have bench-type 60:40 split seats in the second row. Most of the features will be sourced from the 5-seater variant. The SUV will also receive front parking sensors, which are missing in the current car.

Hyundai Alcazar Rear Overhang

The new Hyundai Alcazar is expected to be offered with two engine options – a 1.5-litre turbo-diesel and a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol. The 1.5-litre naturally-aspirated engine is not likely to be on offer. The turbo-diesel engine is capable of producing 113bhp and 250Nm of torque, while the turbo-charged petrol engine offers 138bhp of power and 250Nm of torque. Both manual and automatic gearbox options will be on offer.

Likely to be priced somewhere between Rs 13 lakh to Rs 18 lakh, the new Hyundai Alcazar will rival the Tata Gravitas, MG Hector Plus and the Mahindra XUV500.
