Swedish motorcycle manufacturer, Husqvarna entered India with Svartpilen 250 and Vitpilen 250 bikes earlier this year. According to a new media report, the brand is now ready to launch the Svartpilen 401 and Vitpilen 401 motorcycles by the end of this year.

The Husqvarna 250 twins are based on the KTM Duke 250. Similarly, the 401 twins will share their platform and engine specs with the KTM Duke 390. The Svartpilen 401 and the Vitpilen 401 will be introduced as an urban scrambler and a cafe racer respectively. The new motorcycles will share the platform, suspension system, brakes and other components from KTM Duke 390. The Husqvarna 401 twins will be powered by a 373cc liquid-cooled DOHC single-cylinder engine that churns out a maximum power output of 44PS and a peak torque of 37.5Nm. It will be paired to a 6-speed gearbox.

The Vitpilen 401 design highlights include circular LED headlamp with LED DRLs, sculpted fuel tank, clip-on handlebars, single piece seat, narrow tail-section with LED tail-light, side-slung exhaust and digital instrument console. The upcoming Husqvarna Vitpilen 401 and Svartpilen 401 are expected to be priced around Rs 2.25 lakh. The new bikes will be positioned against the Bajaj Dominar 400, BMW G310R and the KTM Duke 390.
