Japanese car manufacturer, Honda has announced that it will launch the Vezel crossover in the Chinese market in October. Earlier, the vehicle was scheduled to be launched in November; however, the company pre-launches this crossover in October. Hyundai will also launch the ix25 compact SUV in the Chinese market in October. Unveiled at the 2014 Beijing Motor Show in April as pre-production concept, the Vezel crossover has already entered into production at the company’s production plant in Guangzhou.

The Chinese-spec Honda Vezel will come in two petrol engines- the 1.5-litre i-VTEC and 1.8-litre i-VTEC. While the 1.5L i-VTEC engine is capable of producing 131bhp, the 1.8L power output rated at 165bhp. Both engines will be paired to either five-speed manual or CVT. It is also expected that Honda will also launch the 1.5L hybrid version of the crossover in the Chinese market.

Interestingly, the company has recently unveiled the Honda XR-V SUV at the 2014 Chengdu Motor Show. This SUV is around 20mm shorter than the Vezel crossover and offers a more SUV-like road presence instead of crossover offered with Vezel. This model will also go on sale and will be manufactured by Dongfeng-Honda. The Chinese spec Vezel has been priced in the range of 120000 Yuan to 150000 Yuan (Rs. 11.9 lakh to Rs. 14.88 lakh).
