It seems that Honda has some exciting plans for the Indian market. The company aims to launch three all-new cars in coming years including a hatchback, a full-size SUV and a compact SUV or a crossover. Talking to Livemint, a senior executive at Honda Cars India Ltd. confirmed that the company will bring in the Vezel (HR-V) SUV in the country by the end of 2019. However, the names of other two products are still under the wraps.
The Japanese carmaker has a couple of SUVs in its global lineup such as Honda Pilot and Honda Avancier. And we think, these two can fit the Indian requirements. While the Pilot is a 8-seater family SUV, the Avancier is a 5-seater midsize SUV that was first previewed at the 14th Beijing Auto Show. The Honda Avancier, the company’s flagship SUV, is already on sale in the Japanese market.

Honda’s new small car could be a B-segment hatchback based on the new-generation Amaze platform. It is likely to be stacked up against the Maruti Suzuki Swift and the Hyundai Grandi10. Currently, the carmaker sells the Brio hatchback that hasn’t been doing any good for the company.
Besides these three products, the Japanese carmaker will re-introduce the Civic sedan in the country. Interestingly, the new Honda Civic will be offered with a new 1.6-litre i-DTEC diesel powertrain for the first time. The same engine will also be used in the upcoming Honda CR-V 7-seater SUV, which is slated to go on sale during 2018 festive season. The luxury sedan will also get a new 9-speed automatic gearbox with better shifting refinement and performance. The carmaker will also bring in the new-generation model of the Brio hatchback sometime in 2020-21.
