Earlier this year, Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India (HMSI) had announced its road map for electric two-wheelers. Though, the company hasn’t yet confirmed the products and their launch timeline. According to a fresh media report, the Honda electric lineup might include the Honda PCX electric scooter that was recently showcased to its select dealers at a private event. The Honda PCX electric scooter had its India debut in its concept form at the 2018 Auto Expo. If it’s come to India, the vehicle will gun up straight against offerings from Hero Electric, Ather Energy and Okinawa Electric along with the upcoming Bajaj e-Chetak.
For power, the Honda PCX electric uses a removable lithium-ion battery that’s named ‘Honda Mobile Power Pack’. The battery packs take six hours to get fully charged via conventional cable charger inside the scooter. One can also charge them separately in four hours. It offers a range of 41km. Visually, the Honda PCX electric scooter looks exactly similar to the regular model. Though, the electric blue highlights and minor design bits distinguish it from the standard version. For performing suspension duties, the electric scooter uses telescopic forks and front and dual shock absorbers rear unit. It gets disc brake at the front and rear axles. The overall length, width and height of the Honda PCX electric stand at 1107mm, 1923mm and 745mm respectively.
