We reported earlier that Honda will launch the much-awaited Mobilio MPV in India on July 23, 2014. Interestingly, the company will also introduce the sporty Mobilio RS as flagship variant in its model series. It is likely to cost around Rs 10 lakh, and will be pitched against the Toyota Innova.
The Honda Mobilio RS has recently been launched in Indonesia in both manual and automatic variant. While the manual version costs 203.5 million Rupiah (Rs 10.19 lakhs), the automatic variant is priced at 214 million Rupiah (Rs 10.72 lakhs).
The exteriors of the Mobilio RS boasts sporty front and rear bumpers, twin-slat chrome grille flanked by first in segment LED projector headlight with light guide. Also visible are roof mounted spoiler, aerodynamic body kit, newly formulated 15-inch alloy wheels and chrome exhaust finisher.
Inside the cabin, the vehicle gets all black finish trim and silver accents on AC vents and internal door handles. The centre console features a 6.1-inch colour screen with controls for audio. The additional features added to this MPV include reverse parking camera, speed sensing auto central locks and multi-functional steering wheel.
The Honda Mobilio MPV will come in both petrol and diesel variants. While the petrol version gets the tried & trusted 1.5-litre i-VTEC that also powers the City sedan, the oil burner has 1.5-litre i-DTEC engine. It is likely to be offered in both manual and automatic versions.
