Honda Cars India has officially announced the start of bookings for the highly anticipated Mobilio MPV. The dealerships have started taking pre-orders for the MPV at a token amount of Rs. 50,000. The Japanese automaker has already started production of the MPV at its manufacturing unit located in Greater Noida.
The Honda Mobilio will go on sale on July 23rd, and the high-level of localization will allow the car manufacture to price it competitively in the market. We expect that the MPV will be priced in the range of Rs. 6.2-10 lakh. Based on the extended version of Brio platform, the Mobilio MPV will compete against the likes of Maruti Ertiga, Chevrolet Enjoy and Toyota Innova. This seven seater MPV features a high ground clearance of 189mm and wheelbase of 2650mm.
Honda Mobilio will be offered in both petrol and diesel guise. The 1.5-litre i-VTEC engine produces 119PS and 145Nm of torque while the oil burner 1.5-litre i-DTEC engine producing 100PS and 200Nm of torque. Both the engines are paired to a five-speed manual transmission gearbox. The Mobilio MPV is also claimed to be the country’s most fuel efficient MPV with an extraordinary mileage of 24.2kmpl on diesel run and 17.3kmpl on petrol fuel.
The company will also launch the Honda Mobilio RS trim, which will be the top-of-the line variant in its lineup. This model is equipped with ABS, EBD, dual front airbags, steering mounted audio control, alloys, reverse camera and a 6.1-inch infotainment system.
