We reported earlier that Honda Mobilio launching on July 23, and now the Honda Cars India have officially confirmed the launch of its much-anticipated MPV. The company has already started taking pre-orders for the Mobilio MPV for a token amount of Rs. 50,000. Production of the car has already been commenced at the company’s manufacturing unit in Greater Noida.
Based on the extended version of the Brio hatchback, the Honda Mobilio MPV will take on the likes of Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, Chevrolet Enjoy and Toyota Innova. The high level of local components will allow the manufacturer to price it competitively in the market. We believe that this MPV will be priced in the range of Rs. 6.2-9 lakh. The seven-seater MPV comes with a high ground clearance of 189mm and wheelbase of 2650mm.
The Honda Mobilio will be offered in both petrol and diesel guise. The 1.5-litre i-VTEC engine produces 119PS and 145Nm of peak torque while the oil burner with 1.5-litre i-DTEC engine develops 119PS and 145Nm of torque. Both the engines are paired to a five-speed manual transmission gearbox. The Mobilio MPV is also claimed to be the most fuel efficient MPV in its league. While the oil burner is claimed to return an extraordinary mileage of 24.02kmpl, the petrol engine too delivers an impressive fuel economy of 17.3kmpl.
