India’s largest scooter manufacturer, Honda Motorcycles & India Pvt. Ltd (HMIL) is aiming to further increase its market share in the growing two-wheeler market. The company is betting big on entry-level scooters and motorcycles, and is planning to increase its share in the two-wheeler segment by introducing one more scooter in near future. The company will launch an all-new 125cc scooter named the ‘Lead’. HMIL has already imported the scooter to India for testing purpose, indicating a near launch.
Already on sale in select international markets including Vietnam and Japan, the Honda Lead scooter is expected to go on sale in the Indian car market by this festive season. Talking about its styling, the Lead 125 features a V-shaped chrome strip with integrated indicators. At the rear, the scooter has LED units that add to its overall appeal.
Engine Specification
Powering the Lead is a 125cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that churns out 11.33bhp of power. This scooter features Honda’s ‘Smart Power’ technology that helps in reducing friction and fuel consumption. Adding to it, the idling start-stop system further enhances the overall fuel efficiency of the scooter.
