Honda Jazz Petrol Review – A Highly Practical City Car!

[clear]

How is it on the inside?

Seating & Comfort

The quality of plastic used on the dashboard and doors is excellent, though we feel the plastic used on the centre tunnel could have been better and it lacks soft touches, usually expected from a premium hatchback. Another aspect where it lags compared to rivals is ABS and EBD are offered as standard from SV onwards (priced around 7 lakh), which means it is missing in the E and S trims. As mentioned in the beginning, Jazz’s purposeful design creates maximum space for occupants at front and rear, which equates to a large sedan. The front seats are comfortable with generous headroom, kneeroom, legroom, side support and shoulder room good enough for people above 6 feet. Front seats are well cushioned, moreover the material quality is excellent which provides good comfort to occupants and gives it an edge over rivals.

Honda Jazz Performance Review

Even though it scores well in terms of material quality, Jazz misses out on rear AC vents, a prominent feature which is offered with most of the rivalling models. What makes it worse is that the air conditioner isn’t very effective that makes it uncomfortable for the passenger seated at the back. The infotainment system is basic and lacks Apple CarPlay as well as Android Auto. The touch response isn’t good enough and we feel that Honda should replace it with the City’s infotainment system.

Practicality

The utility points have been designed smartly in Jazz, there are 1.0-litre bottle holders on all doors, two cubby holes, a cup holder and a large area on the floor console spacious enough to keep wallet and mobile phone. There’s a separate cup holder on driver’s side and Jazz offers class leading boot space of 354-litres for storing luggage. The top-spec variants in the carline get Honda’s ‘Magic Seats’, furthermore the rear seats can be folded completely for more cargo space and the front seat can also be folded to create maximum space. With these features, Jazz is undoubtedly the best car in the segment when it comes to practicality. Read – Honda WRV Vs Honda Jazz – What’s The Difference
