Honda Jazz likely to get 1.5L i-VTEC petrol in India; Jazz RS on cards

New Honda Jazz Diesel

Honda Cars India is all set to launch the much-awaited 2015 Jazz hatchback in the country in the early 2015. It is speculated that the petrol-powered Jazz hatchback will get CVT automatic transmission and paddle shifters. The company has recently imported the paddle shifters from Thailand for the hatchback. We believe that Honda Cars India might introduce the performance oriented Jazz RS CVT in the country, which is already on sale in Indonesian market.

Honda has torque converter automatic transmission for the 1.2-litre i-VTEC engine. This engine currently powers the Brio hatchback and Amaze compact sedan. But, the CVT gearbox with paddle shifter is offered with the 1.5-litre i-VTEC unit. With Mobilio RS already offered in the market, there is a possibility that the Japanese maker might introduce the 2015 Jazz RS with 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol engine.

The standard petrol model will be powered by a 1.2-litre petrol unit, while the diesel model gets 1.5-litre i-DTEC unit. A five-speed manual transmission driving the power to front wheels will come as standard. The Honda Jazz RS CVT available in the Indonesian market features Jazz’s Earth Dreams CVT with G-Design Shift and racing inspired shift paddle.  The vehicle is loaded with various advanced equipment including auto-off headlights, electric folding mirrors, emergency stop signal hazard light activation, city brake assist, one-touch indicators, push-button start, front fog lamps, LEDs with DRL’s, etc.
