First Spy Pictures Of Honda HR-V Compact SUV Are Out

In India, the Honda HR-V will be positioned against the Mahindra XUV500 and the Tata Hexa.

Honda Cars India revealed its plan to launch six all-new models in the next three years. Interestingly, one of them could be the 2018 Honda HR-V compact SUV could be one of them. Other five products will include the new-generation City, new-gen CR-V, Civic sedan, Amaze facelift and Jazz facelift.

As a part of Honda’s new strategy, the company will focus on more premium products. With the increasing demand of the SUVs in India, the carmaker has decided to bring in its global HR-V compact SUV. Based on the 2013 Honda urban SUV concept, this new compact SUV will face challenge from Mahindra XUV500 and Tata Hexa in India. Just so you know, the HR-V is the company’s globally successful product that entered in its second-generation in 2013.

While Malaysia will be the first market to receive the 2018 Honda HR-V, its India launch will happen in 2019. Prior to its Malaysian launch, the first spy pictures of the car have emerged on the web. On the exterior, the 2018 HR-V features a more prominent front grille that seems to be inspired by the new Honda Civic. On the lower front section, you will see a bigger fog lamp assembly and lower intakes with slats replacing the honeycomb mesh design. The headlamps also appear to be revised with new graphics.

The rear design of the compact SUV is likely to remain unchanged. Though, it might get tailgate with new garnishes. Design elements such as LED DRLs, power panoramic sunroof and chrome exhaust pipe finisher could be carried over from the current model. Check Out – Top 5 Best Modified Honda City

The existing global model of the Honda HR-V comes with three powertrain options – a 1.5-litre i-VTEC petrol, a 1.6-litre i-DTEC diesel and a 1.5-litre i-VTEC with i-DCD hybrid unit. The Japanese carmaker might continue to offer the same engine setup for the vehicle.
