Honda CMX500 Roadster Revealed in Patent Images

After the Navi, the Honda CMX500 is the second bike from the Japanese carmaker that has been designed and developed by the bikemaker’s Indian R&D division.

Honda, the Japanese bikemaker, is planning to add one more roadster to its 500 model lineup.  As per a latest report, this new bike will be named Honda CMX500 and is the production version of the Honda CX-02 concept. As a reminder, the CX-02 concept was unveiled at the 2016 Delhi Auto Expo. However, some reports claim that it will be the new-generation Honda CB500X. Recently, two patent images of the Honda CMX500 have surfaced on the web. The bike will be based on a new steel frame, offering a more upright riding position. It will also have a taller front fairing, an adjustable screen and a larger exhaust. The swingarm of the bike will be more fancy than what we saw on the Honda CB500X Adventure. The CMX500 is the second Honda bike that has been designed and developed by the bikemaker’s Indian R&D division, first being the Honda Navi. The overall design the production version of the bike shares strong resemblance with the CX-02 concept. Features like LED headlamps and LED taillights, a switchable traction control system and a fully-digital color instrument cluster could also be borrowed from the CX-02 concept. Honda Two-Wheelers had confirmed that the bike will be powered by an inline twin-cylinder liquid-cooled engine as we saw on the concept. Though the Honda CMX500’s India launch is yet to be confirmed, reports say it might go on sale sometime next year.
