New Honda City Becomes India’s Fastest Selling Mid-Size Sedan!

Honda City 2 lakh sales units

The vehicle’s first generation model was rolled out in January 1998, and since then the company has sold over 6.3 lakh units of it.

Since its launch in January 2014, the fourth generation Honda City has crossed 2 lakh sales mark in India. Achieving this feat in 32 months, the Honda City has become the fastest selling mid-size sedan in the country.

The City is also the most successful vehicle from Honda in India. The vehicle’s first generation model was rolled out in January 1998, and since then the company has sold over 6.3 lakh units of it. Though all the generations of Honda City received great response, the introduction of the 4th generation model took its popularity to an all new level – all thanks to the diesel model. The City was the company’s second model, after the Amaze, to get a diesel heart. Powering the diesel model is a 1.5-litre, i-DTEC unit that’s good for 98.6bhp and 200Nm.
