Honda CB300R India Launch Soon; Price Less Than Rs 2.5 Lakh

2018 Honda CB300R Unveiled

The new Honda CB300R naked sport motorcycle bookings open at Rs 5,000.

Japanese two-wheeler maker, Honda has confirmed that the CB300R naked sport motorcycle in the Indian market in 2019. The new motorcycle will be brought to India as a CKD (completely knocked down) unit, which makes it the lowest displacement Honda to be assembled in India. The company also reveals that the Honda CB300R will be a made-in-India product, which indicates that the motorcycle will receive locally developed components. Adding to it, the new naked sport motorcycle will be priced under Rs 2.5 lakh (ex-showroom).

Interested buyers can pre-book the new Honda CB300R at the 22 Honda Wing dealerships across India by paying an initial token amount of Rs 5,000. Honda had unveiled the CB300R Neo Sport Cafe at the 2017 EICMA motorcycle show. Sharing design cues from the bigger sibling – the 2018 CB1000R, the CB300R gets several retro-styled features like round headlamp, muscular fuel tank and stubby rear. Features like LED lighting system and liquid-cooled engine adds a modern touch to it.

The new Honda CB300R is powered by a 300cc, DOHC single-cylinder engine with liquid-cooling and fuel injection. This engine is capable of producing a maximum power output of 30bhp at 8,500rpm and a peak torque of 27.5Nm at 7,500rpm. Power is transmitted to the rear wheel via a 6-speed gearbox. This engine is claimed to have minimum number of moving parts, which helps in reducing maintenance cost. The CB300R comes with a 10-litre fuel tank, and is claimed to returns a fuel efficiency of 30.2kmpl (WMTC mode). The motorcycle can cover over 300km on a full tank.

Braking system comprises of 296mm front and 220mm rear disc. Additionally, the motorcycle gets a twin-channel ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System). The Honda CB300R rides on 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped with 110/70R-17 radial and 150/60R-17 Dunlop radial front and rear tyres. The bike comes with 41mm upside-down front fork and a rear 5-step adjustable monoshock suspension setup.
