2019 Honda CB300R, the latest member of the Neo Sports Cafe family in the middle-weight segment, has been rolled out in India. Priced at Rs 2.41 lakh, the sport naked bike previews “Honda’s ultra-modern minimalistic take on the timeless roadster design”. The company has confirmed that deliveries of the bike will be commenced in the third week of March, 2019. One can book the vehicle by paying a sum of Rs 5,000. Interestingly, the 2019 CB300R is the third ‘Make in India’ big bike from Honda’s CKD platform. It will be sold via Honda’s 22 Wing World dealerships across the country. With light body built, the naked sport bike offers best-in-class torque to power ratio. It’s Honda’s first bike to feature thinnest ever taillight along with the first-in-class IMU based dual channel ABS (anti-lock braking system). The 2019 Honda CB300R sits on the brand’s new frame of tubular and pressed steel and offers “nimble yet strong road holding”.

Honda’s CB300R is being imported as a CKD (completely knocked down) unit, and then assembled at the company’s India based plant. It’s the brand’s third ‘Made In India’ priced at Rs 2.41 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The naked sport bike will take head-to-head against the BMW G301R, Bajaj Dominar and KTM 390 Duke. For people not in the know, Honda had showcased the CB300R Neo Sports Cafe at the 2017 EICMA alongside the new CB100R.

Power for the Neo Sports Cafe comes from a 300cc, single-cylinder, 4 stroke SI engine boosted with liquid-cooling and fuel injection technology. The motor delivers a maximum power output of 30bhp at 8,000rpm and a peak torque of 27.4Nm at 6,500rpm. The 300cc engine is claimed to have minimum number of moving parts that helps reducing its maintenance cost. For performing transmission duties, the bike gets a 6-speed gearbox.

Honda CB300R Braking & Suspension

Based on the diamond type chassis, the bike comes with 41mm upside-down front fork and a 5-step adjustable monoshock rear suspension. Braking duties on the bike are taken care of by a 296mm front disc and 220mm rear disc brake. Additionally, the motorcycle gets IMU dual channel ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System). The Neo Sports Cafe rides on 17-inch alloy wheels shod with 110/70R-17 radial and 150/60R-17 Dunlop radial front and rear tyres.

The new CB300R shares styling cues from the bigger Honda CB1000R, which was first showcased at the 2017 Tokyo Motor Show. It is a naked sport bike and draws its design inspiration from the Neo Sports Cafe concept. The motorcycle features a retro-styled round headlamp with a brushed metal rim, flat aluminium handlebar, a chiselled fuel tank and sharp creases on the side profile.

Features such as exposed frame, blacked out engine and casings, brushed alloy radiator, premium finish parts of steel tubular frame, brushed aluminium radiator shroud and dual chamber exhaust system with black chrome add more to its retro sporty look. The Honda CB300R features all-LED lighting along with twin-bars of LED lamps on the headlamp console. It also gets a fully-digital LCD instrument console and split seats.

The overall length, width and height of the naked sport bike stand at 2028mm, 888mm and 1053mm respectively. With a seat height of 800mm, it offers upright and comfortable riding position. The bike has a wheelbase of 1344mm and offers a ground clearance of 151mm. The CB300R weighs 147kgs and has a fuel tank capacity of 10-litres.
