Honda Mobilio MPV

Honda’s Brio platform is a very flexible which currently underpins the Brio hatchback and the Amaze compact sedan. Honda Mobilio MPV is the third model which has been unveiled at the 2014 Indian Auto Expo. The all-new seven-seater MPV will be launched by the mid-2014 in the Indian car market.

Honda Cars India is ready to launch the much-awaited to launch the Mobilio MPV in the Indian car market. The company has introduced the website of the Mobilio, which explains everything a visitor wants to know about the vehicle.

Honda Mobilio Dimensions

Codenamed as “2NH”, the Mobilio MPV measures 4390mm in length and has a wheelbase of 2650mm which is around 245mm larger than the Amaze compact sedan. The vehicle has 1610mm of height which is 105mm more than its sedan sibling.  With a ground clearance of 185mm, the MPV is good product to drive through rugged Indian terrains.

Honda Mobilio Exteriors

The Honda Mobilio is a budget MPV, and it share most of its design cues and components with Honda Amaze compact sedan which means a very competitive pricing. The front fascia of the MPV appears more muscular than the Amaze compact sedan. It sports the thick horizontal slat grille with chrome accents and the bumper gets oval shaped fog lamps. The aggressive bonnet sports two prominent creases, while the fog lamps also gets black plastic casing. Its headlamps are directly lifted from the compact sedan. The side profile gets prominent crease line which steps down after the B-pillar, and its aerodynamic lines further move towards the rear finally merge below the tail lamps. The rear profile the MPV is what distinguishes it from the Amaze. It sports a new set of tail lights and a wraparound look of the windscreen.

Honda Mobilio Interiors

The Brio based Honda Mobilio share most of its interior component and styling with its sibling car. It features a dual tone interior with beige being the predominant colour. The material quality is good and its fit & finish is top notch. The steering wheel, switches, music system and air conditioner are directly lifted from the Amaze sedan. The front and second row is spacious enough to seat 5 passengers comfortably, while the third row lacks knee room space. It has large windows which provide a roomy feel. Adding to it, the second row seats can slide back to offer more comfortable seating. The third row-seats can be fully foldable that can easily accommodate 2-3 suitcases.

Honda Mobilio Safety Features

The Honda Mobilio MPV will come loaded with several advanced safety features including ABS (anti-lock braking system) with EBD, airbags, central locking, engine immobilizer and others.

Honda Mobilio Engine & Transmission

The Honda Mobilio will be the third product from Japanese carmaker in India to get 1.5-litre turbocharged Earth Dreams diesel engine that churns out a maximum power output of 98bhp and 205Nm of top torque. The gasoline version of the MPV will be powered by the tried and trusted 1.5-litre i-VTEC engine that also powers the Honda City sedan. This engine is capable of developing a top power output of 116bhp and 145Nm of top torque. Both the engines will be coupled to a five-speed manual transmission gearbox, while the petrol version will also get a CVT gearbox.

Honda Mobilio Price & launch date in India

The Honda Mobilio will compete against the likes of Maruti Ertiga, Chevrolet Enjoy and others in the segment. It is likely to be priced in the range of Rs. 6.5 lakh to 9 lakh. The exact launch date of the car is yet to be announced, but the vehicle will be launched by the mid-2014.
