Honda Cars India has introduced the CNG variant of its popular compact sedan- the Honda Amaze. The CNG variant is the 1.2 S MT Plus, which is priced at Rs. 5.99 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) with an added Rs. 54,315 for the CNG Kit and installation charges.
The Honda Amaze is currently the country’s second best-selling compact sedan, thanks to its high fuel efficiency and spacious interiors. With the addition of factory-fitted CNG Kit, we believe that the new variant will be big hit amongst buyers. It will target customers looking for alternate fuel efficiency without compromising on performance and low running cost.
It is powered by the same 1.2-litre i-VTEC engine that also powers the Brio hatchback. This engine is capable of producing a top power output of 87bhp and 11.2kgm of peak torque. The engine is coupled to a five-speed manual gearbox which sends the power to front wheels. Honda has also made necessary changes to the mechanism of the car. The sedan has been tweaked by optimizing the suspension with the use of specific engine parts and wiring harnesses. Adding to it, the maker is offering 2-year warranty on the new variant.
Speaking on the launch, Mr. Jnaneswar Sen, Senior Vice President, Marketing and Sales, Honda Cars India, said, “We are extremely happy to bring the Amaze with a CNG option for our customers, which will not only be cheaper to run and maintain but also eco-friendly.”
