Hero Xtreme 300, XPulse 300 Spied – Pulsar & Himalayan Rivals

Hero MotoCorp is working on a wide range of new motorcycles and scooters including electric scooter for the domestic market. The company is currently selling the XPulse 200 and the Xtreme 200R in the premium motorcycle segment. The homegrown automaker is aiming to further expand its premium motorcycle range with two new 300cc bikes – Xtreme 300 and the XPulse 300.

In fact, the new Hero Xtreme 300 and the XPulse 300 have been spotted testing for the first time. The new models are based on the newly developed platform that underpins the 300cc engine. These new models have been spotted testing in Leh Ladakh region by Gowtham Naidu. The XPulse 300 will be a new adventure motorcycle, while the Xtreme 300 will be a fully-faired motorcycle.

The new Hero XPulse 300 will be an off-roader motorcycle, which will come at an aggressive price tag. For people not in the know, Hero had showcased a 300cc engine coupled to a trellis frame in 2020. This platform is expected to be derived from Hero 450RR Dakar Rally motorcycle’s trellis frame. The spotted model had clutch cover, red trellis frame, front spoked wheels with petal disc, swingarm and chrome finished side stand similar to the one offered on the concept unveiled in February 2020. Adding to it, the spotted model has RJ 14 registration plate (Jaipur) where Hero R&D is located.

The motorcycle is likely to feature 21-inch front and 18-inch rear wheels. It will be positioned against the likes of the RE Himalayan, KTM 390 Adventure, Yezdi Adventure and BMW G310 GS. However, the Xtreme 300 is expected to be the most affordable in its category.

The company is also testing a fully-faired 300cc motorcycle, which looks significantly bigger than the Xtreme 200. The motorcycle looks significantly larger and could be inspired by the original Karizma ZMR. The spotted model has large fairing, alloy wheels, sporty clip-on-handlebars and others. The new Hero Xtreme 300 is likely to be powered by the same 300cc engine, but will be tuned for higher output. It will be positioned against the likes of the KTM RC 390, BMW G 310 RR and the TVS Apache RR 310. The new 300cc engine is likely to produce close to 30bhp of power and 25Nm of torque, paired to a 6-speed gearbox.
