Hero To Launch Three New Scooters By Next Fiscal

Here Moto Corp will launch a new 125cc scooter in the first quarter of 2018

Hero Moto Corp will launch three new models to challenge Honda in the scooter segment. Media reports suggest, Hero Moto Corp will launch a new 125cc scooter by fourth quarter of the current financial year, while two more models will be launched in 2018-19. Bullish on strengthening its premium bike range, the two-wheeler giant is also expected to roll out a 200cc sports bike in India by the end of this financial year. According to reports, Hero MotoCorp is planning to launch a couple of new products across segments by FY’18. Among the various products, the company is keen on introducing new models in the premium and scooter space to scale up growth in the respective segments. Dominating the scooter segment with a massive 60 per cent market share, HMSI currently offers Activa 4G, Aviator, Activa-I, CliQ and Activa 125 in its line-up. TVS with its top-selling models like Jupiter, ScootyPep Plus, Wego and Zest 110 is the second-best player in the segment with 15 per cent market share. Also Read – Upcoming Hero Bikes & Scooters

Leading the bike segment with 50 per cent share, Hero MotoCorp is third in the scooter segment with just 12 per cent share. With the new models, Hero MotoCorp plans to overtake HMSI and become the largest two-wheeler manufacturer in India by 2020. Also Read – Hero Bikes & Scooters At Auto Expo 2018

According to the SIAM’s sales data for April to July period, Hero Moto Corp sold 24,22,650 units of two-wheelers including 2,77,159 units of scooters and 21,45,491 units of motorcycles. HMSI on the other hand sold 13,17,610 units of scooter in the same period under review. While TVS Motor Co. sold 3,38, 723 units of scooter in the April-July period of current financial year.
