Hero To Launch Premium Bike Showrooms For 150cc+ Bikes

Hero MotoCorp is planning to launch a premium retail network for its 150cc and above capacity models. This will help the company serve its customers more efficiently. Currently, the home-grown two-wheeler maker has over 6,000 dealerships across the country. And all Hero bikes and scooters are retailed via the same showrooms.

Speaking at the sideline of EICMA 2017, Pawan Munjal, Hero MotoCorp Chairman MD and CEO said: “As we go forward, we will have more products in the premium segment with higher engine capacity. “So we considering a retail strategy with which will be able to service that kind of (premium) customers”, he added further.

Talking about Hero’s future product lineup, Munjal said, “Going forward clearly, because there is big growth in scooters, growth in premium segment, where we have small market share, the difference will be there but we cannot ignore our bread and butter segment.”

“There is increased focus from us on scooters and premium offerings”, he added further.

The company has also confirmed that it will launch a handful of new models during the current fiscal year. The new product lineup will also include some premium bikes and scooters. Hero’s recently unveiled ‘XPulse’ off-roader concept is also among the upcoming premium products of the company. It’s a dual-purpose adventure bike offering a mix of on-road comfort and off-road capabilities.

Besides this, Hero will bring in the Xtreme 200S sports bike towards the end of this financial year. This motorcycle hearts a 200cc, 4-stroke, single-cylinder engine making 18.5bhp with 17.2Nm. Based on the diamond type chassis, the Xtreme 200S features mono halogen headlamp with twin LED pilot lights, LED tail lamp, contrast coloured mud guard at the front tyre and 17-inch wheels.
