2017 Hero Passion Pro iSmart (i3S) comes with AHO (automatic headlight on) and an updated BSIV engine.

Hero MotoCorp has introduced the new Passion Pro iSmart with AHO (automatic headlight on) and an updated BSIV engine. The 2017 Hero Passion Pro iSmart (i3S) has been made available in three variants – drum brake with spoked wheel, drum brake with alloy wheels and disc brake with alloys – priced at Rs 50,955, Rs 51,905 and Rs 53,805 (ex-showroom, Delhi) respectively. At this price, the updated model goes up against the TVS Victor and the Honda Dream Yuga. The bike is on sale at Hero showrooms across the country.

Save for the Automatic Headlight On (AHO) and new i3S badge on the rear side cowl, the overall design of the 2017 Hero Passion Pro iSmart remains unchanged. The bike also gets blue button for turning off the start-stop mechanism, black finished cycle parts and electric start button in a red colour.

2017 Hero Passion Pro iSmart Specifications

Engine 97.2cc, 4-stroke, single-cylinder, air-cooled OHC
Max Power 8.24bhp @ 8,000rpm
Max Torque 8.5Nm @ 5,000rpm
Transmission 4-speed constant mesh

At the heart of the 2017 Hero Passion Pro i3S is the same 97.2cc, single-cylinder air-cooled, carburetted engine making 8.24bhp at 8000rpm and 8.05Nm at 5,000rpm. This powertrain is now BSIV emission compliant. Transmitting power to the wheels is a 4-speed gearbox. The i3S system automatically switches off the bike’s engine when it’s on idle and switches it on upon pressing the clutch.

The iSmart technology was first introduced on the 100cc Splendor in 2014, and the company received quite an overwhelming response for it as it made the vehicle even more fuel efficient. In 2016, the same technology was launched on the Hero Splendor iSmart 110cc which was introduced as a replacement to the 100cc model. This technology was earlier seen only on premium cars, and the Splendor iSmart became the first ever mass-segment two-wheeler in India to receive such a technology.
