Hero MotoCorp showcased 125cc version of its two popular scooters – the Duet and the Maestro Edge. Both the vehicles made their public debut at the Auto Expo in February, 2018. To be positioned as a premium family scooter, the 2018 Hero Duet 125 features a brand new engine along with new body graphics. In the 125cc scooter space, the new Hero 125cc scooter will face challenge from the Honda Grazia, Honda Activa and Suzuki Access 125. It will also face challenge from models like Aprilia SR 125 and TVS NTorq.
Hero Duet 125 Launch Date
The home-grown two-wheeler maker confirmed that the new Duet 125 will hit showrooms in the second quarter of the 2018-19 fiscal year. Though, the exact launch date is yet to be revealed. Hero Duet 125 Price in India
Hero’s new 125cc Duet has been entirely developed in-house at the bikemaker’s Centre of Innovation and Technology (CIT) in Jaipur. The scooter comes with a new engine and minor aesthetic and feature upgrades. Price of the Hero Duet 125 is estimated to be between Rs 50,000 – Rs 60,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi). At the heart of the new Duet 125 is a 125cc, single-Energy cylinder Boost motor that generates a maximum power of 8.7bhp at 6,750rpm against 10.2Nm of torque at 5,000rpm. Interestingly, it’s the first scooter in its segment to feature the idle-start-stop-system (i3S system). This technology will improve the fuel efficiency of the vehicle. For performing transmission duties, the scooter gets a CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) gearbox. Hero Duet 125 Design & Features
Besides a new engine powertrain, the 2018 Duet 125 has witnessed subtle cosmetic and feature changes. Though, the original design remains unchanged. The scooter gets a digital display with the analog instrument console. Features such as dual tone mirrors, tubeless tyres, mobile charging port, service reminder, a side stand indicator, boot light and external fuel filling are also on offer. The new Hero 125cc scooter will be made available in four colour schemes – Panther Black, Noble Red, Pearl Silver White and Chestnut Bronze.
