Hero Destini 125 To Launch During 2018 Festive Season

With two new scooters, Hero MotoCorp aims to maintain its “double digit growth in the coming months”.

Hero Motocorp will introduce the two new 125cc scooters – Destini 125 and Maestro 125 – during 2018 festive season (i.e. near around Diwali). With these new products, the home-grown two-wheeler maker aims to maintain its “double digit growth in the coming months”. The Hero Destini 125, which is essentially 125cc version of the Duet, will be the first one to arrive in the market. This sporty looking scooter will be put up against the Honda Activa 125 and the Suzuki Access.

At the heart of the Hero Destini 125 is a 124.6cc, 4-stroke, air-cooled engine boosted with i3S idle start/stop technology. It can deliver a peak power output of 8.7bhp at 6750rpm and a peak torque of 10.2Nm at 5000rpm. The scooter gets CVT gearbox and dry centrifugal clutch. Hero will use the same powertrain in the upcoming Hero Maestro 125. Previewed at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo, the Hero Destini 125 and Hero Maestro 125 have been designed and developed at Hero Motocorp’s Center for Innovation and Technology.

With respect to proportions, the Hero Destini 125 is 1890mm long, 729mm wide and 1154mm tall. It has a wheelbase of 1245mm and a ground clearance of 155mm. For performing damping duties, the Hero Destini 125 gets telescopic fork upfront and single coil spring hydraulic tyre unit at rear. At the braking front, the vehicle gets 130mm front and 130mm rear drum brakes with CBS (Combi-braking system).  The new Hero 125cc scooter has been assembled with the 90/100-10 front and 90/100-10 rear tyres.
