Hero Motocorp will introduce the two new 125cc scooters – Destini 125 and Maestro 125 – during 2018 festive season (i.e. near around Diwali). With these new products, the home-grown two-wheeler maker aims to maintain its “double digit growth in the coming months”. The Hero Destini 125, which is essentially 125cc version of the Duet, will be the first one to arrive in the market. This sporty looking scooter will be put up against the Honda Activa 125 and the Suzuki Access.
At the heart of the Hero Destini 125 is a 124.6cc, 4-stroke, air-cooled engine boosted with i3S idle start/stop technology. It can deliver a peak power output of 8.7bhp at 6750rpm and a peak torque of 10.2Nm at 5000rpm. The scooter gets CVT gearbox and dry centrifugal clutch. Hero will use the same powertrain in the upcoming Hero Maestro 125. Previewed at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo, the Hero Destini 125 and Hero Maestro 125 have been designed and developed at Hero Motocorp’s Center for Innovation and Technology.
