We reported earlier that Changan Automobile, the Chinese SUV and electric car manufacturer is planning to enter India. The first Changan model will be launched in our market by 2022. After the success of MG Motors, owned by China’s SAIC Motor Corporation, 2 more Chinese brands including Haval Motors (owned by Great Wall Motors) and FAW Haima are planning to enter in the Indian market.

A new report claims that Haval Motor and FAW Haima will be participating in the upcoming Delhi Auto Expo 2020. Great Wall Motors will showcase its Haval SUV range at the biennial event. The first Haval SUV for our market will be the H6 SUV. This SUV will directly rival the MG Hector, Tata Harrier, Jeep Compass and the Mahindra XUV500.

Haval H6 India Launch

The Haval H6 premium SUV is available with 2 petrol engines – a 1.5-litre T-GDI and a 2.0-litre T-GDI. While the former is good for 163PS and 280Nm of torque, the 2.0-litre unit delivers 190PS and 340Nm of torque. Power is transmitted to the front wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox. Similar to the MG Hector, the Haval H6 could receive the Fiat-sourced 2.0-litre MJD diesel engine.

FAW Haima Automobile is a Chinese auto maker and is a subsidiary of FAW Group. The company sells a wide range of products ranging from sedans to SUVs and MPVs.
